Mergers and acquisitions are among the most important strategic yet complicated decision-making processes undertaken by companies in modern businesses. Although mergers and acquisitions are widespread strategies for achieving corporate growth, market expansion, and positioning within the marketplace, many M&A deals do not result in value creation, mainly because of post-integration management failures. The current research examines the key elements of success associated with post-integration results during strategic mergers and acquisitions, particularly in the context of cultural integration, effective leadership, communications approach, synergy achievement, due diligence process, and employees involvement. In the scope of the quantitative survey-based study, 320 executives and top managers in different industries, including the technology, finance, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors, will be examined using a multiple linear regression approach to predict the significance of each element regarding the Post-Integration Success (PIS). The results reveal that cultural integration (β = 0.381) and leadership effectiveness (β = 0.298) emerge as the two most important variables, accounting for 71.4% of the variance in the outcome of M&A integration (R² = 0.714, p < 0.001). Technology industry reports the highest average score in PIS (M = 4.21), whereas manufacturing industry exhibits the greatest sensitivity to misalignment between culture and strategy. The current research contributes to the existing literature by proposing a unified conceptual model, Strategic M&A Post-Integration Framework (SMPIF). The framework unifies the four stages of the M&A integration process, from assessing strategic fit before the merger to measuring the outcomes of integration.
