Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Global Perspectives in Management (GPIM) is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical standards throughout the scholarly publishing process. Authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher are expected to uphold responsible research and publication practices.
- Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must submit original work that has not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal. All sources must be appropriately acknowledged. Authors must ensure that research findings are reported accurately and that data are not fabricated, falsified, or manipulated.
All individuals listed as authors must have made a meaningful scholarly contribution and must approve the final manuscript. Changes to authorship after submission require a justified request and the agreement of all affected authors.
- Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for evaluating submissions fairly, objectively, and confidentially. Editorial decisions must be based on scholarly merit, relevance, originality, and methodological quality rather than an author's nationality, institutional affiliation, personal characteristics, or personal relationships.
Editors must disclose potential conflicts of interest and arrange for an independent editor to handle manuscripts where necessary.
- Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely assessments. Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not use unpublished information for personal advantage and must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication
All submissions may be screened for similarity and potential plagiarism. Suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate text reuse, or other forms of publication misconduct will be investigated in accordance with the journal's procedures.
Appropriate action may include requesting clarification, rejecting a manuscript, correcting the published record, or retracting an article, depending on the circumstances.
- Research Ethics and Consent
Authors must obtain appropriate ethics committee approval, participant consent, and other permissions where required by the nature of the research. Relevant approval details should be included in the manuscript.
- Conflicts of Interest and Funding
Authors must disclose financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence their research or its interpretation. All relevant funding sources and the role of funders must be declared.
- Corrections and Retractions
GPIM is committed to preserving the accuracy of the scholarly record. When significant errors or evidence of misconduct are identified, the journal will assess the matter and publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions where appropriate.
- Complaints and Appeals
Authors may submit reasoned appeals against editorial decisions or raise concerns regarding publication ethics. Complaints will be reviewed fairly by an appropriate editor or independent representative who is not directly involved in the matter.
- Confidentiality
Unpublished manuscripts and associated review materials must not be disclosed to unauthorized individuals. Editors and reviewers must protect confidential information throughout the editorial process.
- Use of Artificial Intelligence
Authors must disclose material use of generative AI tools in manuscript preparation when required by the journal's AI policy. AI tools cannot be credited as authors and do not replace the accountability of human authors for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of submitted work.
Reviewers and editors must not upload confidential manuscript content to AI systems that are not authorized for such use.
- Handling Allegations of Misconduct
Allegations of research or publication misconduct will be assessed carefully and confidentially. The journal may request supporting documentation, seek independent advice, and take proportionate action based on the available evidence.
The journal aims to follow recognized publication ethics guidance and good editorial practice when investigating concerns.
